Transportation

T
he department of Livestock in Vanuatu is aimed to improve the welfare of animals, including cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, dogs and poultry through the means of transportation. Currently this year in September 2, 2014 the departments of Livestock purchase a new landcruser for PLO (Provincial Livestock officer) in Malekula to facilitate and improve the work of Livestock in Malampa Province by conducting field visits with farmers, running trainings, movement of animals and distribution of improved breeds to far areas in order to increase Livestock production in Vanuatu and to achieved the goal of the Department in 2016 which is the year of Livestock.

In addition to that the department of Livestock in Vanuatu is working very hard to ensure that by next year 2015 all the six provinces should have a means of transport to help farmers from the farm to the market in order to increase the production of livestock for subsistence, semi commercial and commercial farmers in Vanuatu.
